Article 1
The "Festival of Dances on the Island of Mastic" organized by the Cultural Association for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage "Chios in Dance", will be held in Chios on July 17 and 18. Its purpose is the gathering of Dance Ensembles from all over the country and abroad for the promotion of their traditional dances.
Article 2
Every Association or Union based in Greece or abroad in which a Dance Group of traditional dances operates is eligible to participate.
Article 3
Every Club or Union that wishes to participate in the Festival of Traditional Dances, should first be aware of the following terms of participation and then send the application for participation electronically through the Festival page. When completing the participation conditions, questions 6 and 7 can be answered indicatively and no later than April 20, 2024 you must notify the organizing committee of the final number of members of the mission which cannot be changed from then on, as they will be issued the tickets.
Article 4
The cost of participation is set at one hundred and ninety euros (€190.00) per person, for departure from the port of Piraeus for 2 nights, two hundred and sixty five euros (€265.00) per person for 3 nights and two hundred and eighty seven euros (287 .00€) per person for 4 nights. For departure from the port of Kavala two hundred and seventy five euros (€275.00) per person for 3 nights. It includes the ferry tickets (Piraeus - Chios - Piraeus or Kavala - Chios - Kavala) and accommodation for two or three nights in accommodation in Chios. It also includes internal bus transportation as well as the festival orchestra which can cover the majority of dancers. Accommodation will be in double or triple rooms (depending on availability). For each dance that is interested in coming from a different port of departure, the price is set according to the pricing policy of the companies.
Also, due to the tourist season during which the Festival of Traditional Dances will take place, it cannot be guaranteed that the dance groups of the participating Clubs or Unions will stay together in the same accommodations, even if this will be the first purpose of the organizing committee.
The dance groups that will participate do NOT have to incur any other expenses during their stay on the island apart from their meals. Accommodation, breakfast, ferry tickets, coach excursions as well as the festival orchestra are included in the participation fee.
Accommodation will be in triple or quadruple rooms (depending on availability). In case the participants wish to spend the night in a double room, there will be an additional one-time charge of 16.00 euros per person and per day. In case members of the missions wish to spend the night in a single room, the accommodation should be asked about the charge for the single room.
For each dance that is interested in coming from a different port of departure, the price is set according to the pricing policy of the companies.
Also, if an agreement has been reached with apartments & hotels in order to house all the dancers, due to the tourist season during which the Festival of Traditional Dances will take place, it cannot be guaranteed that the dance groups of the participating Clubs or Unions will stay together in the same accommodation although this will also be the first purpose of the organizing committee.
Check-in at the hotel is after 14:00 and check-out until 12:00. In case you want an additional stay or an earlier arrival there will be an additional cost that you will have to negotiate with the accommodation.
The price includes internal transfers (coach) on the day of arrival and until 20/07/2024 in the afternoon. For groups/groups that stay more days, the coach travel will be charged the same.
Also not included is the accommodation tax which is 4.00 euros per room and per night which will be charged directly to the participants and will be paid ON THE SPOT by you at the hotel.
Article 5
Any dance company interested in participating should fill out the application form. Subsequently, within four days, he will receive an email informing him of the deposit of the advance payment in order to secure his place at the Festival.
In the event that another dance group from the same region has completed all the procedures (application for participation - advance deposit) and has secured its place at the festival, then the second group will not be accepted for reasons of priority.
The exclusive criterion of eligibility is the order of expression of interest through the participation application and the deposit of the advance payment of 60% of the total value of the participation, through which the participation is guaranteed.
Article 6
Each Association or Union should prepare a dance program lasting ten minutes (10'). This time includes any comments that should be made about the dances and/or about the presentation of the local clothing of the region they represent. The program and the order of presentation of the dance groups will be given to the participants fifteen (15) days before the Traditional Dance Festival.
Article 7
The Cultural Association undertakes the obligation to transport the members of each Association or Association upon their arrival in Chios to their place of accommodation, to the venue of the Festival, as well as to the port of Chios on the day of their departure. For all other movements, the Association or the Union is responsible.
